Biography
Coenraad Hendriksen has studied Veterinary Medicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University. After the study he specialized in animal science, with special attention to the possibilities of alternatives to animal experiments. In 1989 he was promoted to Utrecht for a study on the development and validation of 3V alternatives in the statutory control of the Diphtheria and Tetanus vaccine. In addition to the research, Hendriksen has a seat in various national and international committees, working groups and boards that are primarily active at the cutting edge of research, legislation and animal welfare and alternatives to animal testing. Hendriksen is a special professor at the Department of Animal Science and Society of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht.
