Biography
Part of the IMAGE integrated assessment modeling team. A model thatsimulates the environmental consequences of human activities worldwide. The objective of IMAGE is to assess long term development scenarios in the energy, climate and land-use systems with the most important goal to assess the development of greenhouse gases. IMAGE results are used in several global studies such as the IPCC fifth Assessment Report, the UNEP Third Global Environment Outlook and the Millenium Ecosystem Assessment. It also plays a key role in the development of the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP's) and the Social-Shared Pathways (SSPs) scenarios. I have been working in several EU research projects (LIMITS, AMPERE and ADVANCE) that assess the effects of postponed and fragmented climate policy. My PhD is about improving the role of renewables in long-term energy and climate scenarios. It focuses on concentrated solar power, geothermal, PV, wave and hydro power systems. Non-CO2 greenhouse gas emissions are further fields of interest.
