Biography
Doro Wiese, PhD, is a lecturer of Comparative Literature at Utrecht University. She was trained in Film Studies and Literary Studies at the University of Hamburg. She received her PhD (with distinction, cum laude) from Utrecht University, where she was a Marie Curie doctoral research fellow at the Gender Studies Program/Department of Culture and Media Studies. Her monograph The Powers of the False: Reading, Writing, Thinking beyond Truth and Fiction (Northwestern UP 2014) reflects on how literature can make it possible to represent histories that are otherwise ineffable.
