Biography
Dr. EAPB of Ervenwas promoted in 1985 in comparative literature at Vanderbilt University (USA). Since then he has taught literature, drama and community doctor at Victoria University in Wellington (New Zealand) and Utrecht University (Humanities, University College). From 2004 to 2006, he worked for the Aruban government on an Aruban oral history / cultural identity research. Since September 2006 he has returned to Utrecht University (Media and Culture Studies). Between 2005 and 2014 he worked on a posting for the Community Art Lab of Peace in Utrecht. He has been artistic director of the International Community Arts Festival in Rotterdam since 2009. As of July 1, 2015, Eugene was appointed Professor of Media, Performance and the City with the task of enhancing academic attention for participation in the arts and strengthening sustainable partnerships between Media and Cultural Sciences and professional parties in the field. Since September 1, Eugene is Head of the Department of Media and Cultural Studies.
