Biography
Floris van den Eijnde received MA degrees in Mediterranean Archaeology (2000) and Classics (2001) from the University of Amsterdam, as well as in Education (2004) from the Free University at Amsterdam. He was a full member of the American School at Athens in 2000-2001 and obtained his PhD. at the University of Utrecht in 2010 (Cult and Society in Early Athens). He excavated at the Athenian Agora (1998-2002), the last two years as field supervisor. Floris van den Eijnde is currently employed as Assistant Professor in Ancient History at the Department of History and Art History of the University of Utrecht. His current research revolves around Early Iron Age and Archaic Athenian society. He teaches various courses in ancient greek history and archaeology.
