Biography
Prof.dr. Geert Buelens is a professor of Modern Dutch Literature at Utrecht University and a guest professor of Dutch literature at Stellenbosch University (South Africa). In 2008 he was Kluge Fellow of the Library of Congress. His research is mainly about the interaction between literature and society. He published extensively about Paul van Ostaijen, avant-garde poetry, nationalism and the poetry of the First World War.
