Biography
Joost Frieling (1987) is a post-doctoral researcher at the Marine Palynology and Paleoceanography group. He obtained a BSc (2009) and MSc degree (2011) Utrecht University, with a background in geology and specialisation in biogeology. During his graduate studies (2011-2016), he worked on past climate reconstructions, with a special focus on marine ecology and carbon cycling during the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM). His current research focuses on resolving (sub-)millennial-scale climate, environmental and carbon cycle perturbations at the PETM.
