Biography
Jorrit Steeholder has been researching early European integration in the period 1930-1963 since September 2016. The center of gravity of his research focuses on the 1930's and 40's. His project 'Economic Blueprints for Europe, 1930-1963' deals with the role of ideas and transnational (economic) networks in the construction of Europe and is embedded in the larger NWO project 'Blueprints of Hope': Designing Post-War Europe. Ideas, Emotions, Networks and Negotiations (1930-1963) '(see' Research 'tab for more information). In July 2016, Jorrit completed the MA International Relations in Historical Perspective at Utrecht University, with a master's thesis on the function of the terrorist organizations themselves - and substantiated - lawsuit against their enemies (so-called 'kangaroo trials'). It provided a historical comparison between the way in which Islamic State (IS) and the German Rote Armee Fraktion (RAF) used this kind of processes to substantiate their own right of existence. In 2014, Jorrit completed the BA History, also at Utrecht University.
