Biography
First of all, I am interested in how stereotypes affect parents and children's behavior. The focus is on gender stereotypes, stereotypes relating to the "sexual double standard" and premature stereotypes. In all these domains, parents and children can have unrealistic expectations about the behavior of groups of people (= prejudices). In my research, I use different methods to identify the underlying mechanisms of stereotyping and stereotyping behavior in parents and children: neurological methods (EEG, fMRI), behavioral observation, experimental tasks (IAT). Topics covered by this research domain include: sex differences, socio-emotional functioning of boys and girls, parenting and maternal behavioral behavior, influence of peers, sex hormones (testosterone), gender roles, gender identity.
