Biography
Adel is a subject of increasing interest among historians, art historians and social scientists. The belief that the Netherlands since the late Middle Ages has been a civil society with a modest role for the nobility is increasingly questioned. The Faculty of Humanities has now, through the Contract Research department, obtained an assignment for further investigation. On September 1, 2017, Dr. Renger de Bruin will start at the Department of History and Art History with a comprehensive study of the nobility in the Netherlands.
