Biography
Peter Leegwater is researcher at the research laboratory of the Department of Medicine of Pets. Here he investigates the molecular background of hereditary diseases in racing dogs. His interest is based on the similarities and differences between the function of genes between animal species. Race dogs are an important model for detecting the causes of complex illnesses. By comparing the DNA of diseased animals and healthy breeders, the causes can be identified.
