Biography
In my research, the form, structure and identity of Christian communities are central. This includes: - Research on views on community in early Christianity, with attention to ritual, political aspects (Roman Empire), questions about authority and gender, and the place of holy texts. - Research into the relationship between Christian communities ("ecumenical theology"), especially as regards the ecumenical movement and within the Anglican, Roman Catholic and Orthodox traditions. This also involves involvement in the NWO project " Blueprints of Hope ", about political and ecclesiastical unification in Europe (1930-1960). - Research into the relationship between community models in Christian tradition and other designs for societies. This includes interrelationships between people and the rest of the world (interface ecology / theology) and questions about participation (participation society).
