Biography
Stefan Sudhoff is a lecturer in German linguistics. Within his research, he focuses on the question of how the function of a sentence in a coherent text or in a conversation is reflected by the grammatical form of that sentence. Depending on the linguistic and non-linguistic context, for example, sentences may vary in their word order or intonation. This phenomenon - the so-called information structure - is at the intersection of grammar and communication and is approached both theoretically and empirically (using corpus studies and experiments).
