Biography
I develop digital teaching materials and methods, especially for fieldwork and excursions. This is among other things: The use of tablets and smartphones on excursions ( mobile learning ) to make it more accessible, more attractive, more intensive and self-contained. Digital data-gathering techniques and analyzes with GIS, with these quantitative techniques, are to add more complex analysis to education. The use of GIS to improve the preparation and development of field activities. Investigating the possibilities of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality for Education. Use of numerical models in an online platform (gems.geo.uu.nl) for the easy-to-use use of complex calculations in education. Online platform for field data management and giving feedback on this data (fwo.geo.uu.nl). I teach in the subjects GIS (including use and analysis of drone images), dynamics of river systems (with the history of Mars in particular), and fieldwork education.
