Biography
I am an Assistent Professor of Greek and Latin Education (Vakdidactiek GTC en LTC) at the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Currently I work in the project 'Meesterschap in de Vakdidactiek Geesteswetenschappen', an initiative of several Dutch universities to stimulate research focusing on learning and instruction in the humanities. Subjects on which I teach and have thaught are, for instance, Latin Linguistics, Vergil, Livy and Pedagogical Content Knowledge of Ancient Greek and Latin languages and cultures. In addition to teaching within the Bachelor and Master programmes of the Amsterdam Centre of Ancient Studies and Archeology, I coordinate and teach post-graduate courses for teachers of Ancient Greek and Latin languages and cultures.
Research Interest
My research specialisms are Latin Linguistics and Narratology and Learning and Instruction of Ancient Greek and Latin languages and cultures. I am especially interested in how (Latin) narrators use linguistic and narratological means to present their narratives, and how readers, including learners, use these means to come to text comprehension.
