Biography
Dr Anderson is a Taranaki-based Paediatrician, and undertakes clinical research with the Liggins Institute and a vibrant team in Taranaki. She has subspecialty interests in paediatric obesity, endocrinology, and diabetes, and is actively involved in clinical practice, teaching and supervision. Dr Anderson is principal investigator for WhÄnau Pakari: a multi-disciplinary intervention programme for children and adolescents with weight issues, and a further project understanding barriers and facilitators to engagement. This research is increasingly focussed on working collaboratively to improve mainstream service provision for MÄori, and working towards health equity. The vision of the research team in Taranaki is to develop collaborations that assist in translating research findings into high quality service provision for all tamariki and rangatahi in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
