Biography
​John is responsible for leading the Corporate Planning, Primary Care Integration, Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Payroll, and Customer Services teams. After graduating from Waikato University with a Bachelor of Social Science (Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management) John held operational HR Manager roles in retail, manufacturing, and software industries. He later held roles in a large global engineering firm leading workforce development across the Middle East and Australia. Born and raised in Whangarei, John moved back to Northland in 2012 where he joined Top Energy in the role of General Manager, Organisational Development. He joined Northland DHB in 2015 and was appointed to the position of GM Planning, Integration, People & Performance in June 2017. John enjoys the challenge of partnering with primary health care providers to enable better population outcomes. He is also committed to nurturing the DHB’s employee experience, workforce capability and wellbeing. Outside of work John enjoys time with his family, cheering on the Taniwha and All Blacks, and spending time on our wonderful coastline.
