Biography
A Lower Hutt local, Laura studied in Dunedin and graduated from the University of Otago in 2007 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy. Laura always knew she wanted to work in the Musculoskeletal Private Practice setting, so took on a role in a Sports & Spinal Physiotherapy practice in her home town of Lower Hutt following her graduation. With a couple of years of experience under her belt, Laura wanted to see the world and left NZ for her OE. In 2012, with the travel bug satisfied, Laura settled into Sydney life, working in a busy Sports Physiotherapy clinic in the city’s CBD. After three years looking after the Ozzies, Laura decided it was time to make home in NZ, and joined the Body in Motion team at Mt Maunganui in January 2016. Laura treats her patients holistically and enjoys educating patients about how to best manage their injuries. She is trained in Clinical Pilates and dry needling and uses these modalities as an adjunct to her Physiotherapy manual therapy techniques. Laura has a special interest in Running injuries and has completed both half and full marathons with her next athletic goal being to complete an Olympic distance Triathlon.
