Liz Mcdougall

Biography

 Originally from the UK, Liz started working as a physiotherapist within the NHS rotating around various ward based roles and musculoskeletal outpatient clinics. Liz has been working in private practice since her arrival in New Zealand in August 2016. Liz has a passion for musculoskeletal physiotherapy, and the experience she has gained both in the UK and in NZ has broadened her skill set in the musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy areas. As a keen triathlete and open water swimmer, Liz understands the stresses and pressure the body is put through during training and events in order to perform. And from her own experiences, knows that injury can arise during these times for many reasons. By looking at the whole picture with her patients, Liz strives to direct their rehabilitation to prevent recurrence of such injuries, and to facilitate a return to their optimal condition. Liz is fully trained in various techniques, including acupuncture, manual therapy and sports massage, and likes to apply hands on therapy, where appropriate, in order to assist in her patients rehabilitation.
