Biography
Götz obtained a PhD in biochemistry from the Free University of Berlin, Germany in 1989 followed by post-doctoral training at the Salk Institute in San Diego, USA, and the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology in Vienna, Austria.
Research Interest
His research has focused on the development of technologies to genetically improve livestock for agriculturally relevant traits and the engineering of dairy animals for the production of biopharmaceuticals in milk. His research interest also includes genome editing capabilities which are applied for the development of large animal models to aid the investigation and therapy of human diseases and provide solutions for regenerative medicine.
