Biography
Ms. Sally Annabelle Chaplain is Independent Non-Executive Director of Downer EDI Limited since July 2008. She is a former investment banker with extensive experience in public and private sector debt financing. She also has considerable experience as a Director of local and state government-owned corporations involved in road, water and port infrastructure. Ms Chaplain is Chairman of Queensland Airports Limited and a Director of Seven Group Holdings Limited and the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation. Ms Chaplain is also Chairman of Canstar Pty Ltd, a financial services research and ratings company. Ms Chaplain is a former Director of PanAust Limited, Coal & Allied Industries Limited and Keolis Downer Pty Ltd, a joint venture between Downer and Keolis SA, and a former member of the Board of Taxation. A Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Ms Chaplain holds a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Economics and Mandarin in addition to a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Melbourne.
