Biography

Prior to coming to New Zealand Janet lived in England and worked in management in large scale retailing, taught in a comprehensive school in Manchester and ran outdoor education programmes. She has been in New Zealand for  thirty years teaching Economics and related subjects in secondary schools and more recently at the EIT. Her passion is Economics and she has carried out research on the economic impact of sporting events in Hawke’s Bay and more recently researched into the economic way of thinking. She has actively participated in a number of sports including multisports/triathlon, tramping, kayaking, swimming, surf lifesaving and canoe polo, but more recently activity has been related to her involvement with her family. She is currently working towards her Masters in Adult Education at Massey University.
