Ben Gerritsen

Biography

Ben has a deep understanding of infrastructure regulation, having advised regulated businesses and regulators on network access, pricing and service quality. Ben also understands the commercial and regulatory environment in the New Zealand gas industry, having previously worked with industry participants on access code arrangements and associated industry rules. Ben is responsible for the commercial operations of First Gas’ transmission and distribution pipelines, and is focused on ensuring that we engage proactively and constructively with our customers. He is also responsible for economic regulation by the Commerce Commission and market and access regulation by the Gas Industry Company. Ben is qualified in law and economics, and received his Masters of Public Policy from Georgetown University in Washington DC, where he studied on a Fulbright scholarship.
