Biography
In this position Paul led a team of more than 100 staff responsible for developing the company’s information technology, network information, and facility management systems. Paul’s team was also tasked with corporate affairs, as well as business and technology opportunities development. A Chartered Accountant, and Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand, Paul has significant experience across the infrastructure sector and has been a regular participant in various industry groups, including most recently as Chair of the Electricity Network’s Association Smart Technology Working Group. Paul is currently a Director of the Electricity and Gas Complaints Commission, appointed as a representative of the network companies, and has previously been a Director of the Institute for the Study of Competition and Regulation. In his role as First Gas CEO, Paul brings expertise in strategic planning and tactical delivery as well as a focus on building effective teams and strengthening relationships with stakeholders.
