Biography
Former Deputy Prime Minister (1998–1999) in the National Government (1990–1999), Wyatt was a cabinet minister for nine years and held a wide range of portfolios including Health, Education, Employment, Revenue and Deputy Finance. He served as an MP for fourteen years. He remains a Privy Councillor (title: Rt Hon) and has been awarded the Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit. Wyatt served as a member of the National Party Board from 2002 until the 2008 General Election. His commercial experience includes working as an accountant, serving on a number of boards and leading the development of several start-up businesses including the award-winning Palliser Estate Wines. In addition to chairing Healthcare of New Zealand Holdings Ltd (HealthCare NZ), Wyatt currently serves as Chair of the New Zealand Fire Service Commission and Heritage New Zealand.
