Amanda Black
Professor
Bio-Protection Research Centre
Lincoln University New Zealand
New Zealand
Biography
Dr Black’s research expertise is in environmental soil chemistry and biochemistry focusing on the role of trace elements in major nutrient cycling. More recently her research has incorporated molecular techniques to explore the relationship between functional gene expression, metal-dependent enzymes and their role in the regulation of soil carbon and nitrogen for soil productivity enhancement in marginal land. She has also directed her research skills to address nutrient imbalances in agricultural soils with the aim of improving the status of MÄori marginal land, including the initiation of native plant industry to produce bioactive compounds.
