Biography
After graduating with a Masters degree in Quantitative Financial Risk Management in 2001, JD started his financial services career at ABSA Bank (South Africa) as a consultant in Portfolio Risk Management. In 2002 JD joined m-Cubed Asset Managers as a Quantitative Investment Research Analyst. JD decided to further his studies in Investment Management and joined the University of Stellenbosch in 2005 as a Researcher and Lecturer. He obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter in 2007 and a PhD with focus on Investment and Portfolio Management in 2014 (University of Cape Town). Due to his passion for the investment industry JD started an investment consulting business in 2008, focusing on investment education, research and portfolio management. JD decided to expand his research focus to include developed capital markets and joined Lincoln University, New Zealand in 2016 as a Senior Lecturer and Researcher in Investment and Financial Risk Management
