Biography
Silvia studied Architecture and Urbanism in Brazil, and has been awarded her PhD in Urban Landscapes from Lincoln University. She has worked as a visiting researcher for the Research Institute for Regional and Urban Development (ILS) in Aachen (Germany), and as lecturer at the Universidade Federal do Tocantins (Brazil) where she also coordinated the Building Science Laboratory and was the Head of Department of Culture at the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Strategic Outreach office.
Research Interest
Silvia is passionate about exploring the interfaces between architecture, urbanism, and landscape. Her research interests include the impacts of urban comfort, regional cultures and microclimate design on adaptive capacity, public health, climate change, economy, policy and post-disaster recovery.
