Bob Buckley is a professor in the Macdiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and NanoTechnology, Newzealand
Research Interest
Bob Buckley manages the Robinson Institute, which is related to the Superconductivity and Energy group at Callaghan Innovation. Over the past 25 years this group has discovered new high temperature superconducting (HTS) materials and developed a range of new HTS conductor technologies and devices using HTS wire e.g. HTS winding cable technology, HTS magnets, MRI demonstration, and a HTS transformer demonstration. The outcome from this research has been commercialised through two spin-outs, HTS-110 and General Cable Superconductors, and a number of existing New Zealand companies. Bob Buckley is a board member of the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology and is co-author over a hundred refereed publications and nine patents.
