Research Interest
His research explores the role of governance in building resilient and sustainable communities, with a focus on coastal communities and the role of land-use planning, collaboration, conflict resolution, and science, policy and practice in managing natural hazard risks. It is clustered around three themes: (i) Natural hazards planning and risk governance, with a focus on disaster risk reduction and post-disaster recovery; (ii) Adapting to climate change; and (iii) Integrated coastal management and coastal governance.
