Research Interest
Northern Ireland and other political conflicts involving indigenous peoples and ethno-national and religio-national groups, state terror, deconstruction of the "myth of terrorism," critical analysis of "losing hearts and minds" and killing of civilians – particularly by unmanned aerial hunter-killer drones – in the current "wars on terror" in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, and beyond (including Aotearoa/New Zealand), and managing danger in ethnographic fieldwork.
