Biography
Dr. Lachlan McIntyre is currently working as a Programme Director of International Veterinary Education Partnerships in the Department of Vet, Animal and Biomedical Sciences, Massey univesity , Newzealand.
Research Interest
Transmissible spongiform encephalopathy disease specialist with particular expertise in atypical forms of scrapie and BSE and surveillance requirements for TSE diseases. Laboratory containment systems in relation to ANZS 2243.3 (Biological Safety in Laboratories) Disease Modelling with Interspread Plus. In particular have completed a large modelling exercise for DEFRA involving standstill times in an FMD outbreak. Design of software for field data collection in a surveillance context. Data mining and analysis in MS Access and STATA 9 Develpment of government policy in respect of disease surveillance and animal disease incursion response. Clinical trail design, implementation, analysis and reporting Animal disease surveillance, especially involving TSE diseases and veterinary diagnostic laboratory systems
