Research Interest

There are two main divisions of photosensitivity: 1. Primary photosensitivity - such as spring eczema in calves, and rape scald in lambs, as a well as a number of other idiopathic cases, including photosensitivity in dogs. 2. Secondary photosensitivities suce as facial eczema in cattle, sheep, and camelid; and swede toxicity in cattle. My primary focus is identifying the cause of those photosensitiviteis of unknown source, While maintaining an interest in identifying more about the subclinical cases and early stages of those photosensitivities with know causes, Through this work I have experience in metabolomics analysis using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), HPLC coupled to mass spectrometry, UV-Vis, and Fluorescence spectroscopy.
