Biography
Chris Ross is Head of Integrated Supply Chain Operations for the Life Science business of Merck. In this role, he is responsible for leading the global manufacturing site network, supply chain planning activities and distribution center network. Ross was Senior Vice President and Head of Operations for Life Science business of Merck and was responsible for 4,000 operations employees in 25 plants around the world. He managed all aspects of supply chain and manufacturing across three Technology Clusters – Biologics, Separations and Inorganics & Specialties – and ensured customer satisfaction across the value chain. Ross drove manufacturing strategy, operational excellence and supply chain management processes to improve cost, quality and delivery of products for Merck’s Life Science customers. Ross began his career with the organization in May 2008 as the Director of Manufacturing Operations in Danvers, Massachusetts. He later worked as Managing Director of Cork-Consett Operations and then Vice President of the Separations Technology Cluster, both roles based at the Cork, Ireland, manufacturing site. Prior to joining the organization, Ross held operations and supply chain positions at Raytheon, AMETEK and General Electric. Ross received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Washington in Seattle and a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
