Biography
Mr Adams has 30 years of commercial, management, operational and reservoir engineering experience in New Zealand, Australia, the Middle East and the North Sea. Mr Adams qualified with M.Sc. (Hons. Physics) B.Sc (Physics, Geology) and the initial stages were with New Zealand’s national oil company, Petrocorp, where he was involved in the initial appraisal and development of the Waihapa field (New Zealand’s second largest onshore oil field), development of the McKee field (New Zealand’s largest onshore oil field) and the discovery of the Mt Messenger accumulations at Kaimiro. Mr Adams subsequently worked overseas including engagements with BHP Petroleum and QGPC (Qatar) before returning to New Zealand in 1996 to work for Fletcher Challenge Energy focused in particular on secondary and enhanced recovery projects in various Taranaki fields. Mr Adams set up his own reservoir engineering consultancy in 1999 and has been involved in many successful project assignments both in New Zealand and overseas, most recently including tenure with Belltree UK where he has been Technical Manager for a 16 man consultancy leading international projects covering prospect evaluation, field appraisal and development planning and EOR.
