Biography
Dr Craig Lee is a lecturer in the Department of Tourism. He was previously a PhD candidate and sessional lecture at the University of South Australia, Adelaide, Australia before joining the University of Otago in 2016. Across his teaching experience he has taught hospitality and tourism subjects related to research methods, enterprise management, entrepreneurship and small business, festivals and event management, marketing, and business ethics.
Research Interest
Craig’s current research interests lie in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship in hospitality and tourism, with the goal of identifying how these two factors can enhance the performance of small and medium sized hospitality enterprises. His work in this area, applying Structural Equation Modelling, Partial Least Squares Path Modelling, and Qualitative methods, has been published in leading academic journals such as Tourism Management and the Journal of Travel Research. In addition, Craig has been involved in consultancy work within Australia’s restaurant industry. He is currently the Undergraduate Course Adviser for the Department of Tourism, serves on several editorial boards including Tourism Management Perspectives, and is a Board Member of DunedinHOST, the primary industry body for tourism operators in and around Dunedin, New Zealand.
