Biography
My background is in Pharmacy, Nutrition and the study of Probiotics. Before my current position as a researcher in the School of Pharmacy, at the University of Otago, I studied a Masters degree in Human Nutrition followed by a PhD in the School of Pharmacy. My research focused on the effect of gut microbiota and probioitcs on metabolism of selenium. This research was carried out under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Paul Fawcett, Dr Arlene McDowell, Emeritus Prof. Christine Thomson and Emeritus Prof. John Tagg. My current research is the development of micro-emulsion formulations of siRNA/DNA and the development of formulations that mimic saliva.
