Biography
Steve Bender is engaged in continuing support of the MSL ChemCam intrument. This includes instrument health monitoring, data processing, design of scientific experiments in collaboration with external PIs and daily collection strategy contributions. Personal interests relative to ChemCam include surface morphology and its impact on passive spectrometery and the impact of detector noise on texture characterization. Additional interests include participating in the development of a laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) reference database.
