Biography
Dan McClary is a marine biologist with over 25 years of marine science research, consulting and management experience. He has extensive expertise in helping businesses assess the effects and impacts of industry on the environment, and has successfully navigated regulatory guidelines for a wide variety of commercial clients and government agencies throughout New Zealand, Australia and Southeast Asia. Dan’s work has primarily included preparing impact assessments (including marine mammal impact assessments or MMIAs), and providing vessel biosecurity (marine pest) inspection and management services, as well as strategic environmental and biosecurity management advice to exploration companies and developers. He has also provided expert evidence and testimony in support of environmental permit applications at local, regional and national (i.e., Planning Tribunal, Environment Court, EPA Marine Consent Hearings) levels.
