Biography

I consult at the Terrace Eye Centre, Waikanae Specialist Centre and Wellington Public Hospital. I provide a tertiary referral vitreo-retinal service for the region. I am interested in the development of the specialty of ophthalmology and am the director of training for New Zealand with the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. I am a trustee of the Capital Vision Research Trust and am keen to see the advancement of academic ophthalmology and research in this region. I was born and brought up in Wellington and have worked in the United Kingdom during my sub-specialist training. I have a wide range of interests both within ophthalmology and outside medicine and I enjoy working with patients from all sorts of backgrounds and age groups. I have a reputation for providing a considerate personal and professional approach to my patients and I appreciate the privilege of meeting a wide range of patients in my work. Research Interest

- General Ophthalmology - Cataract Surgery - Diseases of the Vitreous and Retina I have a comprehensive training in General Ophthalmology and Sub-Specialty training in the management of Vitreo-retinal disease. My colleagues and I have recently upgraded our equipment to be able to fully investigate diseases of the retina, including Age Related Macular Degeneration, and to be able to offer the latest developments in treatment. We also offer state-of-the-art equipment and techniques for cataract surgery.
