Biography
Dr Johnston completed his undergraduate medical training at Otago Medical School in 2005. He subsequently completed ophthalmology training throughout New Zealand prior to completing his fellowship in Perth, Western Australia. He has worked as a full-time consultant at Southland hospital since 2016, establishing a permanent glaucoma surgical service within the department. Dr Johnston set up private practice in 2017, and operates the first and only private eye specialist clinic in Southland to provide full in house diagnostic testing, including field and OCT testing. Post Fellowship Training Dr Johnston was the Anterior Segment fellow at Royal Perth Hospital, Western Australia, 2015. This fellowship included the medical and surgical management of corneal, lid, orbital and glaucoma patients.
