Biography

Mr Mark Gittos is a consultant cosmetic (plastic) surgeon who qualified from the Auckland University Medical School in 1984. He completed his plastic surgery training in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, France and the UK. Mark was the lead reconstructive plastic surgeon at The London Breast Clinic. He performed over 300 breast enlargement, uplift and reduction operations per year; as well as multiple body sculpturing procedures including liposculpture, liposuction, tummy tucks and male breast reduction (gynaecomastia/MOOBS). He pioneered techniques in skin and nipple conserving immediate post mastectomy breast reconstruction. He also performed facial rejuvenation procedures such as mini and full facelift, nose reshaping, upper and lower eyelid surgery, fat transfer, laser and chemical peels. Mark was also a UK NHS Consultant Burn Specialist for 7 years. Mark also operates regularly on patients with skin cancer, hand injuries, trigger finger and carpal tunnel syndrome. Mark Gittos is married with a son and a baby daughter. His interests include reading, motor sport, rugby, running and aviation. He has his Private Pilots Licence and has completed the London Marathon (slowly). Post Fellowship Training Mark obtained his Plastic Surgery registration in the UK in 1996. On return, his New Zealand re-registration was completed in 2008.
