Biography
Michael is a fellowship trained knee and shoulder surgeon. After completing orthopaedic training in New Zealand, Michael spent several years in Europe, specializing in knee and shoulder surgery. Michael has a keen interest in sport and has a great experience, both in New Zealand and overseas, in the care of elite athletes. He has a special interest in ACL and multiligament injuries of the knee. Since 2012, he has been the consultant orthopaedic surgeon for the New Zealand Breakers basketball team. In 2014, Michael was awarded the Asia-Pacific Knee, Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Society Travelling Fellowship to the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. As well as Unisports, Michael works at the Eastwood Orthopaedic Clinic and is a Consultant Surgeon, at Counties Manukau DHB. Michael’s subspecialty expertise encompasses: Knee surgery Arthrosplaty (Knee Joint Replacement) Private surgery is performed at Auckland Surgical Centre and Southern Cross Brightside Hospital.
