Biography
After having completed my medical degree at McGill University (2002-2007) and my orthopaedic surgery training at Université de Montréal (2007-2012), I worked as consultant orthopaedic surgeon for 6 months at CSSS de l’Énergie in Shawinigan, before leaving Canada for further post-graduate fellowship training. I undertook a one and a half year fellowship in Trauma, pelvic/acetabular surgery and revision arthroplasty at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, Australia, and a 9 month fellowhip in Paediatric orthopaedic surgery at Starship Hospital in Auckland. I have now been in public practice at Southland Hospital since May 2015 and in private practice at Southern Cross Hospital in Invercargill since August 2016. In addition to my public commitments, I have a weekly private clinic in Invercargill and a monthly private clinic in Queenstown. My operating sessions are variable based on caseload in order to keep waiting times at a minimum. My particular areas of interest and expertise are based on my specific fellowship training, particularly paediatric and adult trauma, post-traumatic reconstruction (including soft-tissue knee arthroscopic surgery and ACL reconstruction), and hip and knee arthroplasty. I take great pride in providing cutting-edge evidence-based quality care for my patients. My teaching roles include: Clinical Lecturer, University of Otago (2016-present); NZ National Faculty, AO Trauma (2016-present); Course faculty, Osteosynthesis and Trauma Care South Pacific (2013-present).
