Biography
Graduated MBChB Otago 1992. Orthopaedic training in Otago and Waikato Hospitals. Fellowship examination 2002. Spinal Fellowship 2003-2004 at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham, UK. My surgical interest centres around orthopaedic spinal surgery using microsurgical techniques. This includes: cervical surgery, anterior for discectomy and fusion, posterior for decompression and/or stabilisation; lumbar spinal conditions both acute and degenerative and long-term sequelae of spinal fractures. I also enjoy the opportunity to operate on patients with hip and knee arthritis, nerve entrapment at the wrist or elbow and some knee arthroscopy, although not ligament reconstruction.
