Biography
I graduated from the London Hospital Medical College and subsequently did my basic surgical training in London, Johannesburg and Plymouth. I then underwent advanced training in trauma and orthopaedics in the South West of England. This was followed by a fellowship in joint replacement surgery in Exeter with emphasis on impaction bone grafting to restore bone loss often found at revision hip surgery. I then did a further fellowship in trauma orthopaedics at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, developing an interest in lower limb injuries, especially complex tibial fractures. I started consultant practice at North Shore Hospital helping to set up the new department and have continued my interest in lower limb arthroplasty. I am also involved in research and development of computer navigation surgery to improve the accuracy of implant position in joint replacement procedures.
