Biography
Carmen qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science (Occ. Ther) from Auckland University of Technology. She returned to her home town of Tauranga, and worked in community-based brain injury rehabilitation, beofre moving to London for 10 years. Carmen continued to work in the field of neuro-rehabilitation across London, specialising in the rehabilitation of people with severe cognitive-behavioural and physical injuries as the result of brain inury, and held the post of Head Occupational Therapist for a number of years. She also worked as a consultant trainer for Headway - a national brain injury charity, and a consultant trainer for Positive Behaviour Management. Carmen held a guest lecturer post at London South Bank University, and assisted with a programme for Occupational Therapy students with learning difficulties. On her return to New Zealand in late 2010, she gained work in the Vocational Rehabilitation sector, and has spent time working at ACC as a Case Manager before joining the Body in Motion team in March 2016.
