Dr Justin Imrie

Biography

 Dr Imrie has been employed as a consultant anaesthetist at Tauranga Public Hospital since 2003.  He has always been involved in teaching and for two years held the title of Supervisor of Training for the Tauranga anaesthetic registrars.  Dr Imrie relinquished this position to become Head of the Bay of Plenty Anaesthetic Department, which he also held for two years. Since 2006 Dr Imrie has also been involved in private practice at Grace Hospital, with his focus being primarily on plastic, orthopedic, vascular and general surgery.  His goals as an anaesthetist are to provide safety and quality of care.  Preoperative assessment, planning and consent are vital parts of this - as such he aims to see most prospective patients in his rooms at Grace Hospital before their operation date.  “I consider it a privilege to work with skilled surgeons, such as Adam Bialostocki, in a centre of clinical excellence, within the beautiful Bay of Plenty.  If you have any anaesthetic issues that you wish to discuss then please do not hesitate to contact me.” Dr Imrie enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons fishing, surfing and biking in the playground provided by the Bay of Plenty.
