Alison Fields

Biography

My degrees are in Arts, Library Studies and Theology. My first career as a librarian included work in bibliographic and reference services in public and academic libraries all over New Zealand. My second career as a lecturer is in teaching the next generations of library and information professionals, preparing them for both the current profession and the changing roles and technologies that lie ahead.

Research Interest

I am currently undertaking a Doctorate in Education through the University of Otago, looking at maximising the effectiveness of embedded librarians and other learner support within the online classroom. I research and publish in several areas including e-learning, continuing professional development and library studies,
