Biography
Geoff was appointed to the Board in 1988 and appointed Chairman in December 2011, succeeding Sir John Todd. Geoff has extensive experience in New Zealand and Australia as a commercial lawyer and partner at Russell McVeagh, investor and company director. He is also Chairman of NZX listed company Heartland Bank and Suncorp Group New Zealand and its subsidiaries. Formerly he was a director of Spotless Group and Chairman of Lion Nathan. He is a Director of a number of private companies. In 2008, Geoff was named the Deloitte/New Zealand Management Magazine Chairperson of the Year. Geoff chairs The University of Auckland Foundation and is also chairing the University’s “Can We . . .” Campaign which has the objective of raising $300 million for The University of Auckland.
